SYLACAUGA — A workshop on budgeting for small businesses is set for Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Chamber of Commerce
The workshop will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Development Center at Jacksonville State University and Nexus Bookkeeping LLC.
The workshop will look at the benefits of a budget, how a budget helps with decision making, the importance of accurate bookkeeping, basic financial statements needed to prepare a budget and review of a sample budget. An Excel budget template will be provided to attendees.

Laura Strickland, Chamber executive director, will begin the workshop with an introduction of what is scheduled.
Presentations are set to begin sat 9:05 a.m. with Joe Grimes, business advisor with the JSU SBDC; Cassie Chandler, business advisor; and Deanna Crist, owner of Nexus Bookkeeping.
